Visit to Beaches of Dapoli

It was end of November. We were back from Diwali Vacation and were planning for some unique experience that we were going to get in few days!!! After looking for various options available we decided to leave for Konkan beaches which are considered as "Virgin" beaches of India and that's when we started for Dapoli with bunch of 7 guys.....This wonderful place has some exotic and breath taking wonder of nature.I found myself lucky to visit this place which separates me from Concrete Jungle, Human crowd and importantly Mobile phone :) Let's start with the one of the memorable journey.

We started from Pune at around 6 am and took route via tamhini ghat. It's around 220 Km from Pune. We took following route.  Pune - Chandani Chauk - Paud - Mulshi - Dongarwadi - Tamhini Ghat - Vile - Nijampur - Mangaon - Lonere Phata - Goregaon - Ambet - Mhapral - Shenale - Mandangad - Dapoli. It was a memorable road trip in lap of nature with singing idols from my group. We took break for Poha/wadapav/tea and  cheezee clicks in between many times as you will find lots of nice views of nature and village life while travelling via this route. We discovered one island shown in below picture.

We reached to Dapoli village at around 12:30 pm and were looking for accommodation. Please make sure do not land up in taking accommodation far away from beach as we were confused by seeing resorts at just entry of Dapoli village. Actually, Beaches are around 12-15 Km away from entrance ;) We found OK kind of accommodation just 5 min away from beach which cost Rs. 1400. You have to bargain to get good deal. I would recommend "Surali Sagar" Which has view of Karde beach and was looking good.

Now, It's time for Beach VolleyBall. We were amazed to see the vast white sand beach of Dapoli with number of people you can count on your fingers!!!!! We enjoyed our rest of the time in Salty Water!!!

After cleaning ourselves from mud, We went for traditional "Konkani Thali". For people eating Sea Food lots of options for sea-food are available. I managed to get Veg. food. After that we again went to beach at night and explored the sky with twinkling starts.sorry for Sharing Lunch Photo as no photo of Dinner is available ;). We spent rest of the night with "UNO" cards :)

On next Morning, we started for another surprised package - Karde Beach which has only having we 7 people and few local guys playing Cricket. It was amazing experience there in calm water. This is also good time to visit this place for Bird Watchers as you will find various spices of it.

After having few VolleyBall sets, we checkout from the hotel and started for Anjarle which is famous for "Kadyavarcha Ganpati". It is the nice temple of Lord Ganesha with its own History. You can buy local product such as Kokam Sharbat, Aam Papad, Aam and Ananas Wadi, Modaks etc here.

While returning from Anjarle towards Harnai beach, We found fish Market where Auction of Various eatable Fishes happens on daily basis in the evening only. We just were able to get glimpse of fishes from car.  Harnai beach provides a quite and a peaceful experience. It is an isolated stretch that is lined with a fort on its northern end.

After Having lunch at Dapoli at around 3:00 pm, we started for return journey to Pune. We took break at one sunset point which was amazing. During return journey, We got entertained by our own "Boy's" Version of Dilwale songs :P

Overall It was amazing experience at Konkan Beaches. If we summarize it in one word, i will call it "Awesome". We start comparing it with GOA but Goa has it's own Charm and Konkan has its calm call!!! I would like to visit this place again if get chance someday :) as i am always attracted by roar of the sea.
